My name is Sarah Burkinshaw and I am a senior at the University of Mary Washington, pursuing a degree in geology. My interests within this major are in field work, and I have participated in classes that have traveled around the Fredericksburg region, and even in Bonaire. Through these classes, I have learned valuable skills like attention to detail, data collection and analysis, and making accurate geologic interpretations. While I stay engaged with my studies, I like to participate and lead various clubs on campus. I am a dancer and choreographer for the dance club, a member of the UMW Pep Band, and the treasurer for the club swim team. Having leadership positions in these organizations helps me be a well rounded person, and someone who can contribute to the success of a greater picture.
